Elise Dunsmore

I am Elise Dunsmore, and I have been going to church ever since I was a little toddler.  I always sat there and thought that my life was perfect because I believed in God, but I realized that those thoughts were not true.  It turns out that life is not all amazing with a nice paved road.  It can be bad and you can be very mad and hurt.  Occasionally, I thought that I was doing something wrong or that I was a problem. John 16:33 (NIV) says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world, you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.” This verse reminds me that although I will have hurt and pain in life as a Christian, and as long as I believe that Jesus died for me, I know that He cares about me and I have something to live for.  God gives me a reason to hope.
