Larry grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, leaving there in 1974 to attend the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. He is a retired submarine officer, having spent a total of 42 years with the U.S. Navy. He and Janet have two children, Rebecca (and her husband, Clay Frost) and Erik (and his wife, Katie). They enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking and spending time with friends and family.
