Before Jesus was my Lord and Savior, my life was tormented. There was a lot of hatred, darkness and confusion. I was lost. I always felt alone and like I couldn’t trust anyone. I was abused mentally and physically. A lot of times I got angry and bitter because of how I was being treated. When I was homeless, God led me to Groton Bible Chapel. The 1st day I met Pastor Jason and a young lady who gave me a Study Bible. Pastor Jason spoke with me and I told him my situation. He helped me get housing, and I signed up for Welcome Aboard. At the 2nd Welcome Aboard class, I told Amber I wanted to be saved, and she prayed with me, and I confessed that I was a sinner, repented, and asked Jesus to come into my life. Now I am saved by the grace of God. Now I’m thankful for Jesus every morning when I open my eyes. Satan has still tried to mess with me. He has told me lies and tried to interfere. But Pastor Jason and Jody came to my house and prayed with me, and I’ve learned to fight with prayer and Scripture. Prayer is powerful because you’re talking to God, and He loves it when you talk to Him. Now I don’t have to fear anymore, and I know God fights for me, and all I have to do is believe, trust in Him, and have faith, and I know He will always guide me. I prayed and asked Him to reveal to me what I was still sinning about, and I had a dream that it was my phone! So now, instead of picking up my phone when I wake up, I go to my Bible. He wants me with Him, because He really, really wants me to know Him, and I’ve been praying and asking Him to know Him better. Now I want to do things for His glory, and not mine. 2 Timothy 1:7 — “For God hath not given us the Spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of sound mind.” 1 John 4:4 — “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
